On his mentors at Western

“And of course the other guy Jack Fairs. He was probably the best coach I ever had and he knew more about every sport going that I ever saw. When I was at Western tech I used to see Jack in the cafeteria once in a while and we’d sit down and talk about the the complexities and do a comparison of hockey and basketball, and he knew more about hockey and it’s only in the last 15 years I think that I learned that he played hockey up here at Western as well as being a football player and a basketball player and an extremely good coach and has a little bit of a reputation as a squash coach too.”
