John Nash On the benefit of sport in life Interesting transition from individual sport to team sport. Um, golf for example is an individual sport where you become very selfish and self involved. So that form of athletics I don’t think is particularly helpful to the rest of your life. But team sports, like football, or even smaller team like basketball, where you have to integrate and work with people, uh, work with strengths and weaknesses, work with people who are far better than you and people who are not as good as you. And work with coaches. Both great coaches and poor coaches. Great, great trainingfor life. Uh, one of the little things. I came back into this business. I had noexperience in jewelry whatsoever, but within a year, uh, I was taking the courses to become a gemologist and a year later, insisted that every new member on faculty, on staff here, had to undergo gemological training. We still do that. Next: Therese Quigley Previous: Julia Morrow Back to Browse
